about us...

The Serendipity Trust (Guarantee) Ltd (Reg. No. GL 2260) is a not-for-profit organisation based in the Southern Province of Sri Lanka. 

The Trust led regular events and participation opportunities for children in Sri Lanka and linking children with special events and programs run by other organisations and individuals.

While not currently active in Sri Lanka, our recent key programs included the Galle Children's Festival, School's Out Holiday Workshop Program and the Serendipity Trust Teacher Training Program.

Our objectives include:
  • work in partnership with local community members and groups to coordinate events and projects aimed at increasing participation opportunities and developing new interests and skills for children, young people and educators
  • develop and implement training and development opportunities for educators in language and the arts
  • contribute to the identification of needs and opportunities for effectively utilising  local resources and knowledge, and facilitate their effective interaction through the elaboration and implementation of shared community cultural development strategies and plans
  • contribute to enhance and facilitate dialogue and cooperation among educators and young people  in developing policies, services and innovative administrative practices for community cultural development
  • support and facilitate initiatives that promote the exchange of knowledge and culture
  • contribute to enhance the image and recognition of Sri Lanka, its people and its cultural arts
  • connect community groups and individuals to opportunities that develop their skills and interests in sports, leisure, artistic and various cultural activities
  • to connect Sri Lanka to other  nations and cultures within a dynamic partnership framework.  
  • reinforce networks of local actors, particularly teachers, artisans, students of all ages, community groups and services providers, aimed at contributing to community cultural development. The Trust does not engage in primary or secondary education of children
