The music project

The Music Project was held on 8th of July 2013 at Dikkumbura Sri Siddhartha School. This exciting program was funded by their partner School King’s College School, Cambridge as part of the 2013 Galle Children’s Festival Outreach Program.
150 students participated for this event with each child having the chance to learn how to play the recorder in an interactive and fun workshop. Following the event, each student received their own recorder and music pack to take home to encourage them to continue with this new skill.
Each student was able to play 1-2 songs by the end of their workshop and were all very proud to perform their new talents.
The Music Project runs workshops with schools throughout Sri Lanka. The team of 4 Sri Lankan and 3 Scottish Volunteers traveled all the way from Kurunegala to run the 15 workshops with the students.
Big thanks to all involved!
