Ursula Nelius
Ursula Nelius is one of Sydney’s most respected violinists and the Founder/Director of Serendip String Tuition, a non-profit organisation that benefits the children and communities of Sri Lanka. Ursula begun her extraordinary violin career at the age of 4. After completing her Bachelor of Music at the Sydney Conservatorium and years as a principal member of the Sydney and Australian Youth Orchestras, Ursula won a scholarship to study her Master of Music at the San Francisco Conservatory as well as invitations to the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival in Germany and Tanglewood Music Festival in Massachusetts USA. Ursula became a respected violinist working with the many orchestras of Munich before winning a First Violin position with the State Theatre am Gaertnerplatz. In 2004 Ursula returned to Sydney where she has been a permanent freelance member of the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra regularly performing the roles of guest Principal First and Associate Second Violin amongst other engagements. Ursula's passion is to help change a child's circumstances through the amazing world of music. |
